Unlike the rest of the world, the villagers look forward to Mondays, because this is when the weekly night market takes place.
Every Monday night, food and merchandise dealers will gather and set up stalls on the temple compound. There will be stalls that sells various goods, from fashion to hardware, food stalls that you simply cannot resist and game stalls where you can win prizes. So, it's basically a fun fair that takes place weekly, and where everything is affordable.
Quick tour:
"Egg Cake". It's basically pancake made into small shaped pieces on the spot... very delicious. 8 for NT$20 (US$0.75)
Hardware stall that helps customers sharpen their farm equipment too.
The Taiwanese Opera will run 2 more days, so that's more free entertainment for the locals.
What food did I get? Well, my stomach has its limits, so I "only" had a steak set meal(a piece of small steak, noodles and egg served with black pepper sauce), a plate of oyster omelet with sweet and spicy sauce, a serving of those pancake thingys plus a cup of ice-cream. There are still tons of food that I haven't tried. Saving them for the next visit!
The Cow is critical of the grass, or it should be. It doesn't matter where it grazes, there's always different tastes to comment on. So join the cow and cowaround the world!
