I couldn't really hear what he was saying, but he basically started by saying that he used to suffer from this disease. Then he went around to show everyone a scar on his neck to prove his claim. Then he went on to say how he invented this new medication and blah blah....


The following are different venders making their presence known to the entire village via the temple's PA system. My grandparents live right next to the temple so we get to see/hear all the actions.





"Hot and ready salty rice cake is here! There's also oyster omelette...."






This lady basically sells fermented soy products like tofu and so on...

"Delicious fried scallion, delicious fried scallion! If you want fermented soy beans, fermented soy beans are delicious too. There's also delicious miso, miso is also very delicious...."





Now, this is taken from the farm, about 500ft away from the temple. I have to say, that's a damn good PA system! So you are supposed to drop your shovel and run to the temple for the delicious whatever that they are selling.

"Tomatoes! If you like tomatoes, it's 3 Jin(Taiwanese weight unit) for NT100! There's also dragon fruit, if you like dragon fruit, it's 3 Jin for NT100!... There's also tomatoes, tomatoes for 3 Jin for NT 100..."

Hmm... so this guy is trying to sell fruits to farmers, and he's only got two kinds, and he prices them all the same!!! Yes, country life is very uncomplicated.
