Special Mention

On the Monday since the teacher's tragic death, the state sent a few psychological counselors to the school to talk to the kids. Ok, so it's like someone ordered in the big guns/SWAP/SEAL team 6 or whatever you call them. Do I have a problem with this? Sure, why not?

To me, dealing with a loss is relative to the personal relationship between the person and the deceased. Everyone reacts to different aspects of this matter. For me, I react more towards the fact that the loved ones have to suffer this emotional hardship, as opposed to the death itself.

Therefore, to be dropped in like a paratrooper cold feet and address the kids like they are the "pros" is a bit.... insulting.

So there they came.

"Crying is normal, but if they still show signs of trauma, we will have to come again...."

So.... this is like saying," Headache, heart burn, increased heart rate, rising blood pressure, depression and insomnia are all normal symptoms, but if the erection remains for longer than 4 hours, please call your doctor right away!"

Alright, there they get to work, go go go!!!

A few hours later. One came back to the staff room,"We have to get going by noon, got another appointment to meet."

So there's a time limit to deal with emotional stress?

Yes I get it. No one has unlimited time for everything. However imagine if you are these kids still crying over their deceased beloved teacher, a group of strangers come in to tell you that it's ok blah blah blah and then "opps, time's up, gotta go! Oh and btw, call me in a month if you are still sad ok!"

Box checked!
